Darth Nihilus Hood

This sale is for a hood made of vacuum formed styrene. Darth Nihilus has an unusually shaped head, so the hood is used to give the proper shape under the black fabric. (We originally made the hood out of fiberglass, but it's was heavy and really held in body heat. The styrene is much more comfortable!) There are occasional issues with webbing (wrinkles) on the back bottom side of the hoods due to the shape of the mold, but these have been trimmed away and do not cause a problem since the hood is hidden under the black fabric of the head coverings/cape.

The hood mold was hand sculpted so please be aware that it is not perfectly symmetrical. The hoods have been rough trimmed out of the plastic sheet. You may need to trim additional bits off the hood to suit your preferences. If needed, the easiest way to do so is to use a mouse sander, belt sander, or a dremel with a sanding wheel.

The hood must be painted black before use or it will show through the fabric. Flat black is best, since glimmers of glossy paint may show through when flash photography is used.

The photos shown in this sale are not the same hood which is for sale. They are examples, used so that I won't have to take pictures of the same thing over and over again! The hoods I ship will be cast from the same mold, and will look identical save for any natural variations in the vacuum pull and trim work.
